Wichita Falls Police Department Memorial
206_thumb_thumb.jpg

This page is dedicated to seven brave Officers
who lost their lives serving the citizens of Wichita Falls.

These Officers are not heroes for the way they died,
but because of the way they lived their
 lives.

 Purpose

Since our founding in 1890, our Department has suffered the tragic loss of seven brave officers killed in the line of duty. Those Officers and their families are honored annually in May, during National Police Week, with our special Wichita Falls Police Memorial Service. We honor their service, our loss, their family’s grief, and their ultimate sacrifice.

Please view our memory page to see a photo of each Officer and read a brief history of how they were killed in the line of duty.

 A Police Officer's Prayer

Lord, I ask for courage- Courage to face and conquer my own fears and take me where others will not go.
I ask for strength- Strength of body to protect others; Strength of spirit to lead others.
I ask for dedication- Dedication to do my job, to do it well, Dedication to my community, to keep it safe.
And please, Lord, through it all, be at my side. Helpful Links:
