The Department's Drill Field is a 15 acre state-of-the-art facility for training utilizing the latest techniques and technology. When combined with the Public Safety Training Center, the Drill Field allows the Wichita Falls Fire Department to meet and exceed state and federal requirements for the training of personnel in the areas of fire fighting, rescue and hazardous materials. Because of its size, future projects can be added allowing the Wichita Falls Fire Department to meet any future changes in the fire service.
The Drill Field is one of the finest facilities of its type in Texas and throughout the United States. Most fire drill fields of this caliber are owned by private entities such as universities and few municipalities have committed the resources necessary to construct a facility such as this. The fire Drill Field is an important asset as the Wichita Falls Fire Department makes training available on an area, regional and state basis.
