New Water Meter Fee
As of October 1, 2009

The City Council of Wichita Falls recently established a new $500 "meter set fee" to be charged when a water meter is installed.  Water meters historically have been placed into service with the cost being shared by all of the users of the system.  With the City's budget shortfall this year, it was apparent that some services that have previously been "no charge" services would now have to be charged to the entities using the service.  		Water Meter_thumb.jpg 

It is unfortunate that this change has to be made, but in order to keep the water rates at their present level these fees must be charged.  The new fee is effective as of October 1, 2009.
