Food, Water, Shelter and Shade

All animals must have a form of a shelter which shall be fully enclosed on three sides, have a roof and a solid floor. The shelter shall be structurally sound and in good repair.

Adequate shelter provides relief and protection of your pet from the Texas weather elements. Whether it’s a place to seek out shade from the hot Texas sun or block the cold winter winds, adequate shelter is a necessity for your pet.

Your pet’s shelter should also have proper bedding. Straw/hay is a better choice for bedding than cloth materials. Straw allows moisture to evaporate much faster than with cloth.

Shade, either natural or artificial, must also be provided 24/7 by City Ordinance.

All pets should have access to food and water 24/7. Fresh water every day and a daily diet of appropriate food helps your pet live a much longer and happier life.
