Certified Food Managers Course

Food Establishments that cook and/or reheat (such as in a microwave) must have at least one certified food protection manager who has shown proficiency in required information by passing a test that is part of an accredited program as of the October 2015 Texas Food Establishment Rules. The employee must have supervisory/management responsibility and the authority to direct/control food preparation and service.

Upon passing the examination, an official Certified Food Manager Certificate is issued to each candidate. This certificate must be posted in an area that is conspicuous to consumers. The official Certified Food Manager Certificate issued by the examination provider varies in size and issuance process. Candidates should check with the examination provider for specific information.

The Health District does NOT provide this course. Approved online courses and examinations can be found on the Texas Department of State Health Services website here.
