Waiting List for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8)

In order to qualify for the City of Wichita Falls Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8), your name must be placed on a waiting list.  You may come to 1300 7th street, Room 301 in the Memorial Auditorium on any Tuesday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm to complete a written application. The approximate wait time is 24 months, depending on our funding levels.  Unfortunately, we don’t have emergency assistance available.

If you are handicapped or a disabled person, you may now use the Sixth or Seventh Street entrances.  Wheelchair or handicapped accessibility, ramp and elevators are located at the Northeast parking lot off Sixth Street and a wheelchair or handicapped accessible ramp is now available at the Seventh Street entrance at the front of the Auditorium.  The City can provide Spanish language interpreters and deaf interpreters or any other special needs to any person requesting a special service with at least a 72-hour notice.  Please call the Housing Division at (940) 761-7454 or FAX (940) 761-7999.
