New Gallery Exhibit at The Forum: "Abstract Nature" by Danielle Janecek2018-12-21T09:00:00The latest exhibit at the Galleria at the Forum highlights the abstract expressionist work of local artist Danielle Janecek. Growing up in rural Texas immersed the artist in appreciation for the natural world which continues to this day. Working with mixed media to find the abstraction of her observations, she builds images in layers organically to find the final visual statement in each piece.

These classes will help citizens gain valuable insight on how to successfully manage their chronic conditions, such as diabetes, cancer, multiple sclerosis, lupus, and heart disease.

VITA Tax Training for Tax Year 20182019-01-17T09:00:00VITA is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program that has provided free tax preparation to households at or below $64,000 this volunteer staff was able to assist over 3, 500 people last year. If you want to learn a new life skill, boost your resume, keep your mind sharp, and/or get all volunteer hours you need/want they will have 6 sessions to choose from but you must attend ALL the classes provided in that session. Classes will begin Saturday, Jan 5th. For more information contact: Genevieve Anderson at (940) 322-8638 ext. 35.

Thorpe Griner: Opening Reception2019-01-17T17:30:00Join Kemp Center for the Arts for the opening reception for their next North Light Gallery exhibit- Thorpe Griner: Invisible Light. Thorpe Griner is a portrait and landscape photographer living in Denton, Texas. His passion for photography started during his time at Midwestern State University, where he took photography as an elective before graduating with a degree in Mass Communication. He's taken that early passion and expanded on it. Working not only in traditional visible imagery, but he's also expanding into the "invisible" through his Project IR, a study of infrared landscapes. The North Light is proud to present this series of regional and national landscapes as they explore what is beyond our first sight, delving deeper into the just-hidden world around us.
