Description
The Traffic Engineering Division consists of three areas:

Signals

Street lights

Signs/markings
Other responsibilities of the Traffic Engineering Division include the maintenance and repair of City-controlled area lighting and ball field and trail lighting. The division also maintains and repairs the outdoor warning system and is responsible for parking control duties in the downtown and hospital districts.

Traffic Safety Commission
Traffic Engineering constantly seeks ways to ensure safe traffic flow throughout the City and works closely with the Traffic Safety Commission, which consists of representatives from Traffic Engineering, Wichita Falls Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, WFISD, Sheppard Air Force Base, Municipal Court, Wichita County Sheriff's Department, Insurance Industry and several citizens with an interest in areas related to the transportation industry.
