The City of Wichita Falls Public Information Office is responsible for effectively communicating to the public and the media the business and activities of City government, departments, services and events.

This is accomplished through this website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, the City’s television station-Spectrum Cable Channel 1300, daily communication with City leaders, department heads and employees and press releases sent to all print media and broadcast television and radio stations.


The Public Information Office utilizes a state-of-the art digital television studio and digital video equipment for live broadcasts of City Council and Board and Commission meetings, election coverage and other special events.

The department also goes into the field to videotape interviews, project activity and special events throughout the area related to city business, culture and recreation. The citizens of Wichita Falls can utilize the Public Information Office in many ways. The office provides special correspondence for the Mayor and City Council including proclamations, certificates of recognition, honorary citizenship and letters of congratulations. The office also designs and produces city brochures and newsletters, provides information to the public related to City history, economic development, and current events, organizes press conferences and special events, produces television programming and many other communication responsibilities. The Public Information Office also operates the only fully digital, multi-zone information board in North Texas on City Channel 1300.
