Darron Leiker was born and raised in Central Kansas. He received his undergraduate degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the Hugo Wall School of Urban and Public Affairs at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. Darron has served in management positions in small, medium and large municipalities in Kansas. Leiker was appointed Wichita Falls City Manager in September 2005. Darron previously served as the Interim City Manager and was also an Assistant City Manager here for three years. Leiker came to Wichita Falls in March 2002 after serving as City Manager in Sterling, Kansas for three and a half years.
Darron is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and holds the Credentialed Manager (CM) designation from this organization. He is also a board member of the Texas City Management Association.
Locally, Darron is a member of the Southwest Wichita Falls Rotary Club, an ex-officio member of the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industry (BCI), the BCI’s Marketing Committee, a member of the Sheppard Military Affairs Committee and is a Community Advisory Board Member for the Wichita Falls Junior League. Darron also serves on the North Texas Area United Way Campaign Cabinet.
Darron is married to Beth and they have two children.
