Health Advisories
Health Advisories are advisory and/or cautionary statements from local health officials, state health agencies, or federal health agencies that provide guidance, information, or precautions relating to the health and safety of the residents of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, and the State of Texas. They can relate to weather conditions, disease trends, events that can impact on health or well being, or precautions residents need to take. Visitors should check back frequently as these advisories are posted as quickly as they are received. Product Recalls
Product recalls are postings that recall food products, manufactured goods, toys, or other items which the continued use of could impact on the health and/or safety of the public. They include such items as contaminated food and/or drink products, defective merchandise, toys that can be hazardous to children, or other items that can impact on public safety and health. As with Health Advisories, Product Recalls are posted as soon as received, so visitors should check them often for any new updates. Texas Star Nut and Food Co., Inc. VOLUNTARILY RECALLS Nature’s Eats, Natural Macadamia Nuts 6oz and Southern Grove, Simply Raw Trail Mix 8oz. The above products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Homestat Farm of Dublin, OH is recalling some of its 42-ounce packages only of Organic Steel Cut Oats & Chia with Flax and Rye Flakes because the flax seed ingredient has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

SpaghettiOs Original 14.2oz Cans Recalled Due to Potential Choking Hazard

Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) is voluntarily recalling 14.2 ounce cans of SpaghettiOs Original due to a potential choking hazard posed by pieces of red plastic found in a small number of cans. This plastic material is from parts of the can lining which may peel off.

  Garden of Life LLC is expanding its January 29th voluntary recall to include additional lots of its Raw Meal Organic Shake & Meal Chocolate, Original, Vanilla and Vanilla Chai products because an ingredient used in certain lots of the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella Virchow. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

  Health Matters America of Cheektowaga, NY, is recalling specific lots of Organic traditions SPROUTED FLAX SEED POWDER and Organic traditions SPROUTED CHIA & FLAX SEED POWDER because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. FDA Investigates Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Muenchen Linked to Alfalfa Sprouts Produced by Sweetwater Farms

  The FDA, CDC, state and local officials are investigating a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Muenchen illnesses linked to alfalfa sprouts produced by Sweetwater Farms LLC, Inman, Kansas. The CDC reports that 13 people were infected with the outbreak strains of Salmonella Muenchen in four states: Kansas (5), Missouri (3), Oklahoma (3), and Pennsylvania (2). Five people have been hospitalized. Reported illness onset dates range from December 1, 2015 through January 21, 2016.
