WIC Program
Apply online @ TexasWIC.org
The Women, Infants, and Children Program, known as WIC, is a federally funded supplemental nutrition program for pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding mothers and families with children younger than 5. Nutritionists will select food packages based on your dietary needs. WIC staff members load food benefits onto a WIC card with three months of benefits at a time. WIC provides a shopping list that tells participants exactly what is loaded on their cards. Future appointments will alternate between online classes and phone calls with nutritionists every three months.
Participants may go to any store that accepts WIC to use their benefits. Store locations and benefits information are on the My Texas WIC app. Download the app on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Eligibility requires that clients meet the Texas WIC income guidelines and must be residents of Texas. For those not eligible for WIC, nutrition education, recipes, child and family health classes, and breastfeeding classes can be found at Texas WIC | Online Classes.
