|The City of Wichita Falls Office of Emergency Management (WFOEM) plans and prepared for emergencies, educated the public about preparedness, develops volunteers, manages grant funding to improve homeland security and public safety capabilities, coordinates emergency response and recovery, supports planned events, and works with public and partner organizations to protect our whole community when it needs us the most.|

Emergency Management Coordinator
John Henderson began his career with the City of Wichita Falls in December of 2002. His first duties with the City were in Risk Management and serving as the Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator. Then in February of 2009, John became the full-time Emergency Management Coordinator. John has completed his Advanced Professional Development series certificate and is one of three ICS instructors in the NORTEX region.
He is a member of the Wichita Falls Area Type III Incident Management Team and recently became a member of the Lone Star Incident Management Team in Region 5. He has been deployed to numerous disasters, including Hurricane Harvey, Panhandle Wildfires, Bowie Tornado, Wichita Falls/Wichita County floods, and Winter Storm URI.
Emergency Management Intern
Eric Queller began his Emergency Management Career in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas by joining the Bexar County OEM CERT Team (BCCERT) in 2017. Since his first initial training with the BCCERT Eric quickly rose through the ranks and became the lead communication specials and an instructor for BCCERT. Then in the summer of 2020, Eric Interned with the Bexar County Office of Emergency Management under the direction of Mark Chadwick. Eric has also been recognized by the Texas State Senate for his efforts in the nationwide Stop the Bleed® Campaign. He has also received the Bexar County Public Service Medal, a Bexar County Proclamation, and the Emergency Management Association of Texas Community Service Award.
Eric joined the City of Wichita Falls Office of Emergency Preparedness in August 2021, as an Emergency Management Intern. He also works for MSU Texas as the Student Assistant for Emergency Preparedness since 2019. He is a member of the International Emergency Management Association and the Emergency Management Association of Texas. Eric has deployed to numerous local disasters within Bexar County, Wichita Falls, and MSU Texas.
Emergency Management Intern
Darian Fahy was introduced to Emergency Management while serving in the United States Air Force at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. In September of 2020, she was appointed to her unit’s Commander’s Support Staff as a Deployment Manager, where Emergency Management fell under her team’s scope of duties. In December of 2020, she became certified through the American Red Cross as a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor. During the 2021 pandemic year, she lead numerous classes preparing peers both inside and outside of her unit with life-saving skills necessary for deployments and emergency response operations.
After discovering the field of EM, Darian set out to further explore the expansive career field by applying to the Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program. As she prepares to separate from active duty this spring, she’s now working with the City of Wichita Falls Office of Emergency Preparedness. While interning in the civilian sector, she plans to continue her education and build her skill set within Emergency Management.
