Do you want to know more about what makes Wichita Falls a great place to live? The City of Wichita Falls is now offering a nine-week course that will provide an inside look at all the different departments and operations it takes to keep the City running.
The program will cover a variety of curricula for the purpose of fostering a greater sense of understanding of the City of Wichita Falls and all its municipal functions in a fun and interactive forum.
The City of Wichita Falls is excited to announce a new program called the Wichita Falls Citizens Academy. The Academy is designed to provide the residents of Wichita Falls an inside look at our local City government. Residents will have the opportunity to learn the basic roles and functions of municipal government through in-person classes, tours, and activities. Various topics will be covered, including City Council roles and responsibilities, general City services such as police, fire, and public works, community development and planning, and many other Wichita Falls-focused municipal topic. The Wichita Falls Citizens Academy is a great way to develop relationships with City staff while learning more about their responsibilities, and finding ways to become more involved.
This class is made up of a cross-section of Wichita Falls residents. The minimum age for enrollment is 18 years of age. Approximately 25 students will be accepted into each class. Completion of the Wichita Falls Citizens Academy Enrollment Application is required. Students completing the full Wichita Falls Citizens Academy curriculum will be honored at a special graduation event held during the first City Council meeting of the month.

First-class to begin on Thursday, March 24, 2022
Classes will be held every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
The academy will conclude its last class on Thursday, June 7, 2021, with a brief ceremony during the City Council meeting.
