Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee
Welcome to the Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee web page. Here you can find the latest and greatest information and developments with the Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee.
In May 2013, the Wichita Falls City Council appointed the newly created Lake Wichita Study Committee (comprised of Wichita Falls and Lakeside City citizens, elected officials, and city staff) and charged the committee with the tasks of developing goals and recommendations for recreation and non-recreation uses with consideration being given to, but not limited to:
- Water usage
- Public Safety
- Maintenance
- Commercial Development
The name was changed to Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee (LWRC) by the Wichita Falls City Council by Resolution 106-2014 on October 7, 2014. The reason was to coincide with the City Council extension of the LWRC term another 18 months, done by the same resolution, and to recognize a more active role by the LWRC to achieve improvements to Lake Wichita. The committee will work to develop an action plan that can ultimately be implemented to bring the vision to fruition! The committee term has been extended twice by Resolution 55-2016, and Resolution 149-2017, with the current term of the committee to expire November 30, 2019.
