Wichita Falls Police Department Memorial

This page is dedicated to seven brave Officers
who lost their lives serving the citizens of Wichita Falls.

These Officers are not heroes for the way they died,
but because of the way they lived their lives.

"Greater love has not man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

Since our founding in 1890 our Department has suffered the tragic loss of seven brave Officers who were killed in the line of duty. Those Officers and their families are honored every year in May, during National Police Week, with our special Wichita Falls Police Memorial Service. We honor their service, our loss, their family’s grief, and their ultimate sacrifice.

To see a photo of each Officer and read a brief history of how they were killed in the line of duty please view our memory page.

A Police Officer's Prayer

Lord, I ask for courage- Courage to face and conquer my own fears; Courage to take me where others will not go.
I ask for strength- Strength of body to protect others; Strength of spirit to lead others.
I ask for dedication- Dedication to do my job, to do it well; Dedication to my community, to keep it safe.
And please Lord, through it all, be at my side. Helpful Links:
